WHERE DOES THE MAGIC HAPPEN?
Milan, Via Calabiana 6. We work in a vibrant co-working space called Talent Garden located in a very up and coming neighborhood, with plenty of hip pubs for aperitivos where we celebrate our victories. The co-working space has a warm and welcoming crowd of all ages allowing plenty of knowledge sharing and hangout opportunities. If you are an introvert, then sweat not, we have a lot of quiet spaces and cubicles where you can code away in solitude.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING AT QUICK ALGORITHM
Quick Algorithm currently has multiple products, services and tools that helps our clients manage and analyse their data in the most meaningful way. As a part of the infrastructure team, you will be in charge of maintaining a highly available infrastructure platform to provide our clients uninterrupted services. Our current infrastructure uses Kubernetes across Google Cloud and AWS platforms. Every piece of software we write is eventually Dockerized and deployed to the cluster or to stand alone compute instances. You will be key to designing our automated deployment pipelines and developer workflow. We currently have very complex Machine Learning pipelines crunching numbers round the clock. We leverage FaaS, Message brokers, etc. for different use cases. So yes, we do believe in using the right tool for the right job.
As a part of this team, we expect you to be intuitive and efficient with the architecture design and resource usage. We expect you to work independently at the same time collaborating with the rest of the team which includes Data Scientists, Back-end and Front-end engineers and the sales team.

WHAT WE EXPECT YOU TO KNOW BEFORE YOU JOIN
- Experience working with a modern programming language (Python, Javascript/Typescript, Rust etc.)
- Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and programming environment (we like bash).
- Experience with Docker and other containerization tools.
- Experience with database systems (both OLTP and OLAP scenarios)
- Basic knowledge of AWS and GCP cloud providers.
- Basic knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration tools.
- Bonus: Knowledge of any big data processing tool (es. Spark, Flink, Beam)
- Bonus: Knowledge of Big Query
- Bonus: If you know Terraform or any such IaaS tools
